On 17.06.2024 Mr. "BLOK 2003" Ltd. started the implementation of BG-RRP-3.008-0138-C01 "Support for the transition to a circular economy", financed under the "Economic Transformation Program" under the "Intelligent Industry" component of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan. The total amount of eligible project costs is 1 486 000.00 BGN, and the grant is in the amount of 50% or 743 000.00 BGN. 100% of the agreed funding is from the EU under the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. The duration of the project is 18 the month.

The main goal of the project is to switch to circular models to increase resource efficiency and limit greenhouse gas emissions from the BLOCK's activity. 2003 Ltd. Specific goals address individual parameters such as: reducing the amount of waste generated in the laser cutting process; reduce the raw materials used for the production of a unit of product; increasing the use of recyclable raw materials in our production; reduction of energy consumption per unit of product, etc.

The implementation of the project is aimed at satisfying our basic need to make the laser cutting process in our company more environmentally friendly and more resource efficient, through which they pass 80% of our products.

The project covers one activity – Acquisition of new technologies for introducing circular models in enterprises. It will be realized through the acquisition of 1 no. DMA – fibro (fiber) laser machine.

The technological advantages of the new machine will allow us to introduce circular models in the direction of reducing waste generation and introducing other models of the circular economy. We will reduce waste, obtained during laser cutting in the form of: residual sheet material; poorly cut sheet material, which is scrapped; metal dust at the site of the cut. This waste will be reduced by 20% on an annual basis. We expect a reduction in the amount of generated waste in the production of a unit of product by approx 20% and saving raw material per unit of product with least 0,8%. The technological capabilities of the laser will allow five times less energy consumption per unit of product than the currently operating CO2 laser. The use of the fiber laser will lead to an increase in the use of recyclable raw materials in our production and an increase in the durability of our products. With the new fiber machine, we will be able to process non-ferrous metals with high reflectance such as copper, bronze, brass and aluminum. We will increase the production volume of sheet material products by approx 20%.
